Progressive Bulgaria Maintains Lead as Parliamentary Count Nears Completion

(MENAFN) According to reports, Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission has released updated interim results from the parliamentary elections, with nearly all ballots counted as of Monday afternoon.

With 98.3% of votes processed, Progressive Bulgaria remains in the lead with 44.7% of the vote. It is followed by Continue the Change–Democratic Bulgaria with 12.7%, while the GERB–SDS alliance holds 13.4%.

Other parties have also secured representation in the results so far, including the Movement for Rights and Freedoms with approximately 6.9% and Vazrazhdane with 4.3%.

Under the country’s electoral regulations, the Central Election Commission is required to announce final results and the distribution of parliamentary seats within four days of election day. The official list of elected members of parliament must then be published within a week.

The vote marks the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021, reflecting continued political fragmentation and repeated electoral cycles in recent years.

As counting nears completion, the results suggest a continued lead for Progressive Bulgaria, although final confirmation of seat allocation is still pending.
