Iraqi Factions Launch Multiple Attacks on US Bases

(MENAFN) An Iraqi group, calling itself the Islamic Resistance, claimed early Saturday that it carried out eight attacks on US military bases in Iraq over the past 24 hours.

The statement said armed factions used drones and missiles to strike US installations in Iraq and nearby areas, though no additional details were provided.

The surge in attacks follows the joint US and Israel military strikes on Iran on Feb. 28, which reportedly killed at least 1,300 people, including the country’s then-supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US forces, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to regional markets and aviation.
