Google Fines Millions in Russia for Not Restricting Prohibited Content
(MENAFN) Google has been penalized 11.4 million rubles ($145,000) in Russia for not restricting access to specific prohibited material.
The case against Google was reviewed in Moscow, the nation’s capital, on Tuesday. The court determined that the company had breached the law by failing to block access to certain banned content.
Previously, Google faced fines for not removing restricted content, for not localizing users’ personal data within Russia, and for various other infringements.
Most recently, on February 27, the tech giant was fined 16 billion rubles for not paying prior penalties.
