Putin Sends Birthday Wishes to Xi
“The president wished his Chinese counterpart and friend all the very best,” Peskov noted.
This congratulatory message follows Xi’s recent journey to Moscow in May, where he took part in commemorations honoring the 80th anniversary of the Soviet triumph in World War II.
During the visit, Xi and Putin convened for an official discussion at the Kremlin on May 8, accompanied by prominent representatives from both nations.
Their conversation spanned more than three and a half hours and concluded with the endorsement of several bilateral agreements.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs labeled Xi’s Moscow visit as “a complete success.”
Putin characterized their interaction as “highly positive,” highlighting the importance of in-person engagement.
He also expressed gratitude to Xi for attending the remembrance event and affirmed his intentions to travel to China for ceremonies marking the surrender of militarist Japan.
