Univers Debuts Malaysia’s Inaugural Net-Zero Hub
In a statement released Monday, Univers described the upcoming center as a launchpad for climate innovation—where cutting-edge digital technologies will intersect with green energy strategies to support Sarawak’s journey toward a sustainable, digitally powered economy.
The partnership aims to harness digital intelligence to enhance energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and boost performance across several of Sarawak’s major industries. The collaboration will also investigate how smart technologies can be leveraged to build a greener economic infrastructure.
Beyond technical innovation, the joint initiative may also roll out training programs and collaborative platforms to develop local expertise and encourage homegrown innovation.
“We are bringing AI for energy to the forefront, using intelligent systems to transition to a low-carbon economy and enable emerging regions like Sarawak to leapfrog toward a net-zero future,” said Arun Poojari, global vice president of Univers.
“This collaboration is a significant step towards shaping a future where digital solutions are embedded in the way we design and sustain our built environment,” stated Sudarnoto Osman, chief executive officer of SDEC.
The alliance marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s broader digital transformation efforts, positioning Sarawak as a leader in sustainable technology initiatives across Southeast Asia.
