Ukraine is used as Guinea pig by Russia

(MENAFN) Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed defense officials to incorporate insights gained from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine into the country’s next long-term military modernization plan. Speaking during a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday, he emphasized the need to align with global military developments while bolstering both nuclear and conventional capabilities.

“Our task is to formulate a new long-term program for the entire range of systems and types of weapons, including promising ones, making maximum use of the experience of the special military operation, various regional conflicts, and global trends in military technologies,” he stated.

A key component of the directive includes prioritizing enhancements to the nuclear triad, which Putin called “a guarantee of Russia’s sovereignty.” He noted that 95% of the triad’s arsenal now consists of modern weapons — the highest rate globally, according to his remarks.

Putin also underscored the urgency of significantly increasing the strength and preparedness of Russia’s ground forces in a short timeframe. He instructed that infrastructure such as bases and airfields be readied ahead of time for the integration of new weapons systems to avoid situations where they are left “in an open field.”
