Putin Urges Military Reform
He emphasized the importance of aligning with international defense developments and reinforcing both the nation's nuclear and traditional military forces.
“Our task is to formulate a new long-term program for the entire range of systems and types of weapons, including promising ones, making maximum use of the experience of the special military operation, various regional conflicts, and global trends in military technologies,” Putin stated during a gathering in Moscow.
He highlighted the nuclear triad as a top priority, calling it “a guarantee of Russia’s sovereignty.”
He pointed out that cutting-edge weapons currently make up 95 percent of the triad, representing the highest proportion worldwide.
Additionally, Putin underlined the necessity of rapidly expanding the capacity of the army’s ground units.
He instructed that military installations and runways be proactively equipped to receive advanced weapons, ensuring they are not placed “in an open field.”
