Haitian Police Eliminate Gang Members
The aerial assaults concentrated on gang-dominated zones throughout various neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince, the country’s capital.
According to reports, more than 100 gang affiliates lost their lives, while numerous others were injured during the coordinated strikes.
While officials have yet to release a formal announcement about the mission, the “National Network for the Defense of Human Rights” validated that the police initiative indeed occurred.
Media sources suggest that law enforcement efforts are still ongoing in several regions.
Haiti is currently grappling with an intense security emergency, with heavily armed criminal groups maintaining control over expansive areas.
The “United Nations Integrated Office for Haiti” disclosed that 1,617 individuals lost their lives and 580 were wounded in violent episodes within just the initial quarter of this year.
These figures reflect fatalities and injuries resulting from confrontations involving armed factions, vigilante collectives, uncoordinated citizens, and national security personnel, based on data provided by the UN.
