End of girl’s fight: Musk expresses regret

(MENAFN) Tech billionaire Elon Musk expressed regret on Wednesday regarding some of his social media remarks about US President Donald Trump made the previous week, following their very public disagreement.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on X.

The confrontation between Musk and Trump ignited last week after the president criticized the billionaire for opposing a Republican policy due to concerns about its impact on the federal deficit. The dispute quickly intensified, triggering political repercussions and contributing to a drop in Tesla’s stock value.

During the heated exchange, Musk posted several posts on X directed at Trump, including a now-deleted post mentioning the president’s former association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and even floated the possibility of creating a new political party.

“We had a good relationship, I wish him well, very well,” Trump said on Monday, adding that he had not seriously thought about whether he would respond if Musk attempted to reach out.

“I would imagine he wants to speak to me, I would think so,” the president added.
