Alcaraz Conquers Sinner to Claim French Open Men’s Title

(MENAFN) Carlos Alcaraz of Spain emerged victorious over Italy's Jannik Sinner in a five-set marathon on Sunday to claim the men’s singles title at the 2025 French Open, held at Roland Garros.

Top-ranked Sinner made a dominant start, capturing the first set 6-4. The match intensified in the second set, with both players pushing it to a tiebreak. Though Alcaraz battled hard, Sinner clinched it 7-6, putting himself ahead by two sets.

Refusing to back down, second seed Alcaraz mounted a comeback in the third, winning 6-4. This marked the first set Sinner had dropped throughout the tournament.

Alcaraz maintained his momentum into the fourth set. With nerves running high, he prevailed in yet another tiebreak, 7-6, forcing a decisive fifth set.

In an electrifying conclusion, Alcaraz edged out Sinner in a final-set tiebreak, also 7-6, sealing his second straight French Open championship and the fourth Grand Slam title of his career. The epic showdown, clocking in at five hours and 29 minutes, set a new record as the longest final in the tournament’s history.
