Musk issues Epstein files allegation about Trump

(MENAFN) Elon Musk has accused U.S. President Donald Trump of being named in the sealed Jeffrey Epstein documents, claiming that this is why the files have not been fully released to the public. The explosive allegation came during an escalating online feud between the two influential figures.

On Thursday, Musk posted on X: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.” He followed up with: “Have a nice day, DJT! Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

Trump had previously promised to declassify the Epstein materials, and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi released an initial batch in February. However, critical records such as client lists, flight logs, and contact books remain sealed, leading to ongoing speculation about who might be implicated.

So far, Trump and his team have not responded to Musk’s claims.

This development adds fuel to the growing tensions between the two, which intensified after Musk criticized Trump’s newly passed federal tax and spending package, known as the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Trump hit back by expressing disappointment in Musk, stating, “I’ve helped Elon a lot,” and later threatened to revoke Musk’s government subsidies and contracts.

Musk responded sarcastically on X, writing that SpaceX would begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft in response to Trump’s remarks.

Musk recently resigned from his role leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an agency created during Trump’s second term to cut federal spending. He said the new bill undermines DOGE’s mission and pushes the country toward unsustainable debt.

Trump has defended the legislation, calling it “one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress,” and criticized Musk for what he described as a sudden and disloyal reversal.
