Musk Expresses Regret Over Posts Aimed at Trump

(MENAFN) Tech billionaire Elon Musk expressed regret on Wednesday over some of his social media remarks about US President Donald Trump made last week, amid a heated public spat between the two.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk stated on X.

The confrontation ignited after Trump criticized Musk for opposing a Republican policy proposal due to its potential impact on the federal deficit. The dispute rapidly intensified, triggering repercussions in Congress and causing Tesla’s shares to fluctuate.

During the escalating tensions, Tesla’s CEO posted multiple messages on X targeting Trump, including a deleted post alluding to the president’s past association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and even suggested the possibility of creating a new political party.

“We had a good relationship, I wish him well, very well,” Trump said on Monday, noting he had not seriously considered whether he would respond if Musk reached out.

“I would imagine he wants to speak to me, I would think so,” the president added.
